WESTERN Australian Sustainable Energy Association has told ABC Rural coal fired power stations in Australia need to be retro-fitted to reduce carbon emissions.
Professor Ray Willis says Australia is falling behind China with technology found in the country’s coal stations.
"We hear about China opening a new coal fired power station every 12-15 days," he told ABC Rural.
"Australia needs to catch up with China."
